Will of Edward Watts

12 Mar: Will of Edward WATTS of Russell Parish, Bedford Co., VA. To my son John WATTS 150 acres of land on Beaverdam Creek where John HOLLIDAY now lives, one negro called Rose, one feather bed and mare already delivered and five shillings sterling. To my son Benjamin WATTS 225 acres of land on the lower part of where I now live and half the mill. To my son William WATTS the manor plantation whereon I now live containing 225 acres of land and half the mill after my wife Elizabeth WATTS decease or widowhood. To my daughter Ann SCOTT one negro girl called Bett, one mare and one feather bed already delivered and five shillings sterling. To my daughter Elizabeth SNELL one negro girl called Sandass, one gray mare called Fly, already delivered, and five shillings sterling. To my daughter Milly RICHARDS one negro girl called Tamer, and a cow and calf already delivered and five shillings sterling. To my daughter Mary SINCLAIR one negro girl called Hannah during her natural life and one bed already delivered and five shillings sterling. I also bequeath Hannah's oldest boy to the said Mary SINCLAIR's eldest son Edward SINCLAIR, and Hannah's second son to William SINCLAIR, son of the said Mary SINCLAIR. Hannah is to be returned to my son Benjamin WATTS after said Mary SINCLAIR's decease. To my daughter Sarah HUDDLESTON one negro girl called Zena after my wife Elizabeth WATTS' decease. To my daughter Betsey WATTS one negro girl called Oma at my said wife's decease, also one mare and feather bed. To my son Benjamin WATTS three negroes, Melzor, Aggy and Pendor, after my said wife's decease or widowhood. To my son William WATTS two negroes Charles and Eben. Also one roan horse and one bed. My desire is that my estate should not be appraised. Executors, my two sons Benjamin WATTS and William WATTS. Wits. Joseph BROWN, Charles SIMMONS and Isaac SINCLAIR.

(4a) 1795, 27 Jul: Executors Benjamin WATTS and William WATTS took oath, Bedford Co., VA court. Securities Thomas WRIGHT, Job MARTIN, Matthias JAMES, bond 500 pounds.
