Charles Peter Van Norden was almost certainly William's brother. On his death record he lists his parents as "Ericzson and Margritt Van Norden", and Erickson Van Norden married Margaret Collins in New Brunswick, the same city William was born in. Both of William's parents were born in New Jersey, and so were Charles Peter's. In 1850 they are both living in Ward 8, New York City, New York, about a hundred pages apart on the census.
