James Davidson Johnson

James Davidson, son of Jacob and Mary Johnson, was born near Memphis, in Scotland county, Mo. April 21, 1859, and died at his home near Stockport, Iowa, December 1, 1934, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 10 days.

On March 2, 1893, he was united in marriage to Ella Campbell.

To this union were born nine children: Leo C., Robert O., Grace C., and Mrs. Irene Brown, of Stockport; Lloyd T., of Birmingham; Mrs. Emogene Heaton, of Hillsboro; Mrs. Alma Rosander, of Galva, Ill.; Mrs. Neoma Brown, of Wolverton, Minn.; and Howard C. who preceded him in death on January 2, 1931.

Besides the wife and children, he is survived by ten grandchildren and one half-brother, Frank Johnson, of Kansas City, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Although having been confined to this bed for almost four years, he was a patient sufferer and many time expressed a desire to pass on to his final home and rest.

Funeral was held on Monday, December 3, at the home, conducted by Rev. McCargar. Pall-bearers were Glen Edwards, Dail Edwards, Roscow Hall, Carl Hummell, Phin Davidson and Arza Brown.
