55. Mr. Joseph Colby (Sgt. John 10, John 2, Anthony 1), son of Sergeant John and Sarah (Eldridge) Colby, was born at Amesbury, 1684, and he died at Hampstead, New Hampshire, 1753/4. He married, first, at Amesbury, 22 November 1704, Anne Bartlett, born Newbury, 29 March 1684, died at Amesbury, 24 October 1721, the daughter of Christopher and Deborah (Weed) Bartlett. He married, second, at Amesbury, 1 August 1722, the widow Mary Johnson of Haverhill. She died 1754/7. He lived in that part of Amesbury which became Hampstead, New Hampshire.
