He was baptized at Albany, New York on Sept. 1, 1700 and he was the child of Robert Matthew (Teuwis in Dutch) Van Deusen and Cornelia Martense Van Buren. He married Christiana Roorpagh-Roorbach on Nov. 22, 1724 at Kingston, Ulster County, New York. The church records say that the bride and groom were residents of the Manor of Livingston which is now in Columbia County, New York. Robert and Christina had about eleven or twelve children. The burial place of Robert's wife who was born in Germany is unknown to me except that it almost certain that it is in New York State possibly in Columbia County and possibly in this cemetery.
For more information about the Van Deursen (Van Deusen) family, please refer to Volumes I and II of the Van Deursen Family of 1912 by Captain Albert Harrison Van Deusen. There are a few errors that I found in the two volumes but it is a remarkable book compiled long before the era of computers.
