DOB may be off. Morton says he was born about 1777 in the 1850 Census. However, considering his mother was born in 1765 (source: her tombstone) and that Morton was probably not the oldest child of William Bourne (at least according to the order of William Bourne's will), he may have been born later. Some online trees show an exact 1783 date that I am not able to source.
Morton died between 18 Oct 1856 (when he wrote his will) and 22 Dec 1856 (when it was probated) in Lewis County MO Probate Court
