Mary JoAnn Pitford, 51, of rural Kahoka died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at 5:12 a.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
The daughter of Harry E. and Verona Johnson Gates, she was born in Chicago, IL, on Feb. 19, 1937.
She married Norman H. Pitford on Aug. 26, 1953, at Caldwell Idaho, and he survives.
Also, surviving are three sons: Tom Pitford and his wife Debbie of Revere, Bill Pitford and his wife Linda of rural Kahoka, and Kevin Pitford and his wife Gina of rural Kahoka; eight grandchildren: Travis, Stacia, Levi, Lana, Bill, Tonja, Jody and Missy; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter: Kathy.
Mrs. Pitford was a member of the Kahoka Seventh Day Adventist Church, attended school in Clark County, and had lived in the area all of her life.
Services Tuesday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Shaffer and Sons Memorial Chapel with Elder Ernest Burchett officiating. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery.
Organist: Joan Ball, Pallbearers: Darrell Dean, Rick Justice, John Kleine, Jim Cook, Jim Dunn and Steve Dean.
