Quite a few genealogies have Elizabeth daughter of John Smyth and Joann a Ormsby  was married to George Way, died in Saybrook, Connecticut in 1 690. This couple were ancestors of Mehitable Way, born in Norwich, Conn ecticut who married John Ormsbee 31 Jan 1731 in Norwich.
Torrey in his New England marriages prior to 1700 has George Way (1619-   ), Saybrook, and Elizabeth  ? (daughter of Joanna wf of John Smith) b 1 651. Boston/Providence/Saybrook, Connecticut. this means that he found s ome reference that George Way's wife was Elizabeth daughter of Joanna a nd John Smith; that references to a George Way were found in Boston, Pr ovidence and Saybrook and that George and Elizabeth's first child was b orn 1651. By the age given in Banks History of .York, Maine, the daught er of John and Joanna Smith of York would have been much too young to b e the Elizabeth married to George Way and having a child in 1651. Banks h as Elizabeth Smith born after 1645.
