JOHN DAVIS 1756 HAMPSTEAD

   In the Name of God Amen this 15th day of November 1756 I John Davis of Hampstead in the Province of New Hampshire in New England Weaver: * * *
   Imprimis I Give and bequeath to Sarah my Dearly beloved wife the one half of my Dwelling House the improvement thereof. During her natural life with her thirds of the rest of my Estate
   Item I Give to my well beloved sons namely John Nathaniel and Abial my homestead lands and buildings as shall be here after Expressed paying as hereafter spesifid I Give to my said son Nathaniel thirty four Acres with the building on the same which land is to be thirty four Rods in wedth and adjoyns to Lieut Thomas Hales land: I Give to my said son John thirty Eight Acres it being thirty Eight Rods in wedth and also my Dwelling House and Barn: I Give to my said son Abial Twenty Eight Acres it being Twenty Eight Rods in wedth he paying his Brother Samuel Knight one Hundred Pounds old tenor the said Abials part adjoyns to Land of Joseph Noyes
   Item I Give to my well beloved son Samuel Eight Hundred pounds old tenor seven Hundred pounds of which is to be paid by my Executors as shall hereafter be Exspresed
   I Give to my well beloved son Joseph fifteen Acres of land I purchased of Benjamin Gale and Twenty Acres I purchased of Richard Hazzen being in the whole thirty five Acres
   Item I Give to my well beloved Daughter Sarah one Hundred and fifty pounds old tenor to be paid by my Executors at my Decease and also one half of my Hosel Stuff after my wife Decease I Give unto my well beloved Daughter Jane one Hundred…

   Item I Give my Daughter Hannah Rowel & my son Obadiah & my son Josiah and my son Ephraim and my son Samuel Each of them five shillings to be paid by my Executor at the End of one full year after my wife Decease. Item I Give to my son Samuel all my Real & Personal Estate Exsepting what I have as above alowed to my wife he my said son Samuel paying all my Just Debts & Funeral Charges & Leggeses as expresed to my five other children. “Aug 24, 1797, Edward Eastman and Molly Eastman of Corinth Vt.; Edmond Davis of New London, Josiah Davis of New London, Jonathan Jones & Anna Jones of Hawke; John Heath & Dorothy Heath of Springfield; Daniel Bean & Elizabeth Bean of Springfield; Jacob Flanders and Lois Flanders of Hampstead; heirs to the estate of Josiah Davis, late of Hampstead, grant to Jesse Davis all right, title & interest in the estate of our father, Josiah Davis, late of Hampstead.” (I:11). In 1799, Jacob Flanders of Hampstead, bought land in Springfield N.H. from Daniel Bean of Springfield, an don the same date sold land in Springfield to Jesse Davis of Hampstead (I:11). May 5, 1817, Jacob Flanders and his wife, Lois, sold land in Springfield to David Colcord

OBEDIAH DAVIS (4, John, Fohraim, John) was born at Hv, July 14, 1720. He sett. at Hampstead, N.H., c. 1734; and and on Jan l, 1743–4 signed a petition to the Gov. of N.H. asking that a new parish be formed between Kingston and Haverhill. He mar Sarah, dau of Mr. Joseph and Mary (Philbrick) Colby of West Ames, and Hampstead.

Josiah Heath Jr., conveys to his brother, James Heath of Haverhill, land there, bounded on his Josiah’s own land, 12 Jan. 1712-13.
Josiah Heath Junior of Haverhill for six pounds received of my Son in Law John Davis of the same place, sells him one and a half acres of land in Haverhill, bounded on Wm Whiticker, 16 May 1717; witnesses Hannah Heath, Benjamin Emerson,
Josiah Heath Junr of Haverhill conveys to Nathaniel Peaslee of Haverhill, one third part of that farm laid out to Bartholomew Heath for his fourth division which "I had by a deed from my father Josiah Heath*, in Haverhill, 16 Oct 1718.
Hannah Heath of Haverhill, widow and Admin. to the Estate of Josiah Heath Junior, late of Haverhill, Deceased, with son Sterling Heath Joint administrator, who is since removed out of the province, sells a part of the real estate of said Josiah Heath to John White Esq. of Haverhill, 16 Nov 1722.
He left no will.
