Will of Richard Martin

Richard's will Dated June 2, 1686 ( from the Bristol County, MA Probate Records found in NEHGS Reg. vol 63 p. 79)

" Being Aged and Not Knowing the Day of my Death. To may son Richard which is now in old England, two houses with a barn and malt house (being the houses which I formerly willed to him and my son John) also three acres of land. To my son frances who is now in old England a House orchard an Garden: which I fomerlyIntended to Give unto Annis. Lyeing next to Mr. Frenches. To the two sons of my son Frances, two thirds of my lands in the North Purchased lands belonging to Rehobeth, if my said grandchildren Come over to New England to Improve and make use of them. The other third part of above lands I give to my grandchild John Marten my son Richard's eldest son, if my said grandchild come over to New England to Improve it. My grandson John Ormsby, my daughter Grace's eldest son, shall improve said lands Untill my grandchildren in Old England come over to make use of them & if they never come over &ct, the said Joh Ormsby to have andhold & enjoy them forever. To may son John that is now with me, my house orchard and all other lands. My household goods to be divided among my three children that are in New England, Viz. John, Grace, and Annis, son john to have one half the other half to be equally divided between Grace and Annis. My cattle to be divided betweenson John and Daughter Grace Ormsby and Annis Chaffee. Son John to be sole executor and loving friends Deacon Samuel Newman and William Carpenter to be overseers."
