He was summoned to Parliament by writs dated from 1441 until 1455, was a commissioner of the peace for the East and North Ridings of Yorkshire, commissioner of Subsidy Collection and the Court of Oyer and Terminer in the North Riding, as well as a guardian of the Marches for the King.
