Description:
The new King Henry VIII granted him the honor of the license to empark 500 acres in Dyrham, which is to say to enclose the land and to establish a captive herd of deer within, with exclusive hunting rights. William was recently appointed Esquire of the Body to the young king. The royal license is still intact, witnessed by men of great importance to the state, and to which is affixed a rare example of a perfect great seal of Henry VIII, now hanging in a frame at Dyrham Park.
