Mary and her father Josiah are living only six houses away from Thomas Munsell Jr. and his father in 1820.  Both Thomas Munsell Sr. and Josiah Eastman were some of the very first settlers of Licking County, Ohio.  They came there with their families in 1815.  Mary had a sister Rosina, who married Elisha Belknap, and Nancy, who married into the Alward family.  Both Belknap and Alward families are living near Thomas Munsell and Mary Eastman in 1830.

She was born between 1800 and 1810 considering the 1830 & 1840 U.S. censuses, but if Josiah Eastman's 1820 census is taken into account, she would have been 16 or under in 1820. She was likely born around 1804.

death

Mary Eastman died sometime between 1840 and 1850, because in 1850 Thomas Munsell is married to Mary Finell. (This can be told by the 1840 census - whereas Mary Finell would have been 40-50 years old, Mary Eastman would have been 30-40 years old.)
1845 Heinrich Hoffmann publishes a book (Lustige Geschichten und drollige Bilder) introducing his character Struwwelpeter, in Germany.
