I believe all the Taliaferro researchers are aware of the claims concerning Mary, wife of Henry Johnson. Most researchers seem to believe the evidence for Mary's having been a Taliaferro insufficient to support the claim. There is no known record to show that Robert Taliaferro, Sr., had a daughter Mary, and no known record to show that Henry Johnson married a Mary Taliaferro. It was not unusual for families to name children after neighbors who held influence in public affairs, or to name such neighbors as guardians or to other positions of trust regarding legal matters.
The case for Mary Johnson is neither proven nor disproven. Historians who believe Mary was a daughter of Robert Taliaferro, Sr., are certainly entitled to say so provided they make it clear that the claim is thus far unproven. Taliaferro historians are under no obligation to list Mary, even provisionally, so long as no evidence supports a Taliaferro daughter named Mary. Clearly this is a point on which more research is needed.

I think there are grounds for placing the birth order of Robert's children
with Robert being older than you have him. He was appointed the guardian of
Catherine and Charles. I do not think there is firm documentary evidence of
the daughter Mary. However it is reasonable to assume there were more
females along the way based on the number of males using Taliaferro for a
first name.
A good article on the family as a whole was published in The Virginia
Genealogists in Volume 38, Number 3 July-September 1994. Who Was Catherine
the Wife of Colonel Cadwallader Jones of Virginia by Henry G. Taliaferro.

No evidence to support a maiden name of Taliaferro and it does not seem likely she was the daughter of Robert "the immigrant" Taliaferro.
