It is not known for sure whether he is a sibling, but still an unknown relation.  He had a sister Margaret L who married a Johnson Ward, and another sister Amelia who was unmarried in 1865.  His mother's name is listed as "Cardine L Mare".  Also a widowed, divorced, or half sister "Emma F Morra" (possibly Mare?).
