She was Ruth Burress Plaster, born in Hardin County, Kentucky, to William and Eleanor Frakes Burress. She married Michael Plaster (1813-1892) in Schuyler County, Illinois, in 1836. Her grave is next to her daughter Laura's grave, Laura having died in 1875.
